The Story…

It seems like just yesterday I was sitting at my desk at Ernie Dean Pontiac (Now Ernie Dean Chevrolet) trying to figure out how I could increase the amount of prospects I was working with.

I knew the web was my tool but didn’t have a clue on where to start.  This was 2004 and at that time there was only a handful of dealers that were using anything but their OEM sites. I set up a site buyacaronline.ca and promoted the site through a PPC campaign and a giant Billboard with my ugly mug on it and my website displayed across it.

I was maybe a few years early on this and lacked a lot of the knowledge I have today but it was a great learning experience and I’ve continued to research on a daily basis the best industry practices.  Although I’m not on the sales floor anymore I’m talking to Dealer Principals, Sales Managers, and most importantly sales people on a daily basis.

A lot of my inspiration is found in our neighbours south of the border. I’d like Canadian dealers to come together and share ideas and strategies on ways to plain and simple “Sell more cars”.

Although I do promote the products I sell and believe in this site was created with the intention of sharing information and building my network of automotive professionals.
